Safeguarding the future of our rowing club

ADELAIDE UNIVERSITY BOAT CLUB FOUNDATION

The Foundation is a ring fenced, separately controlled asset of the Adelaide University Boat Club, governed by a Deed of Establishment and Board of Trustees.

Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible via a Project registered with the Australian Sports Foundation.

The Board of Trustees have appointed separate Fundraising and Investment Committees. The Investment Committee comprises experienced finance industry professionals and is governed by an Investment Policy and Charter.

Funds donated to the Foundation are held in trust and invested for both capital growth and earnings. A portion of annual investment return (net of an inflation allowance to preserve fund value) is available for Club projects at the discretion of the Trustees.

The Foundation reports regularly to the Boat Club Committee and presents a report and audited financial statements at the Club’s Annual General Meeting.

The Foundation acknowledges the support provided by its Honorary Auditor, Ms Anna Ross.

The investment horizon for the Foundation is in perpetuity. The structure and governance will provide long term stability for the Foundation. Donors can have confidence that their donations will be safeguarded and professionally managed for future generations of AUBC members.

The initial goal of the Foundation is to raise $2,000,000 in donated Capital by the Club’s 150th anniversary in 2031.
